RWANDA Athletics Federation is set to pick
the final team which will represent the country at next year's Africa
Cross-country Championship set to be held on March 3 in Entebbe, Uganda.
The selection for the 24-man team will be done on December 20 during the national cross country championship to be held at Kigali Nyarutarama Golf Club.
The national team will be made up of six athletes in senior women and men categories. It will also include the junior men and women categories. The athletes will compete in 12km, 8km and 6km respectively.
The Rwanda Athletics Federation Secretary General, Johnson Rukundo said the federation will send athletes in both the junior and senior categories for the Kampala competition.
"The arrangements for selecting the team which will head to Uganda are underway," Rukundo added.
Uganda was selected because it meets all international cross country requirements and the Kololo ceremonial grounds where the event will be staged is up to the task.
